Steps of the Procedure in Hair Transplant
Although methods for hair transplantation vary, the most preferred methods DHI and FUE have similar steps. The things that need to be taken into consideration are specified in this process.
How many grafts are going to be transplanted, to which regions these grafts are going to be transplanted, and the design of the front hairline is done at this stage.
The main difference between FUE and DHI in terms of steps is that DHI is done within two steps whereas FUE is done in three steps. Now, let us focus on FUE first and then understanding DHI will be easy as they are similar.
FUE and DHI Step 1: Plucking of the Hair roots
Hair transplant is launched right after anesthesia injections. The first stage of hair transplant is the extraction of the hair follicles from the donor area that is the sides and back of your head. In FUE and DHI hair transplant techniques, the hair follicles in the donor area are extracted one by one.
This step is very crucial because hair follicles should be treated very carefully and should be removed from the skin in line with their
angles. Otherwise, they can be damaged. When all plucking is done, we move forward to step two.
FUE Step 2 : Opening the Holes on the Targeting Areas
In order to transfer the hair follicles that had been extracted in the first stage to the balding areas, channels of the required size will be opened. By the way, opening holes is the most important part of any hair transplant procedure because the depth, angle, and direction of the grafts are determined in this step. It must be carried out by an experienced doctor. Metal blades are going to be used in FUE technique to open the channels.
FUE Step 3 : Implantation of the Hair Follicles
In the third and final stage, the collected hair follicles are transplanted into these opened channels. It requires delicate craftmanship and this can be carried out by experienced doctors and technicians.
DHI step 2 and step 3 is implemented at the same time.
This is the main difference between FUE and DHI. FUE consists of three steps whereas DHI consists of only 2 steps. During DHI operations Choi implanter pens are used in order to give more density. After the hair follicles placed on the Choi pen are determined in the correct direction and angle, the transplant is carried out with the push feature on the needle.
FUE or DHI, every stage of hair transplant is very important. In order for the operation to be carried out successfully and the results to look natural, all stages must be carried out successfully. The most important factor affecting success in hair transplant is the skill and experience of the doctor.
